Steel Framing

Adds an interior column under the ridge at each frame — lighter rigid frames, lower cost.
Roof panels cantilever past the wall — eave overhangs on the sides, rake overhangs on the ends. Extended rafters & purlins show in framing view.
Heights are above the high-side eave, so the roof hides behind them. Grab any parapet on the model and drag it up or down — each bay steps on its own with a live height readout; click one to snap it back to the main height. Or type the heights bay by bay above. Back-up framing shows in framing view.

Every wall picks its own siding, framing and sheathing — board & batten up front on studs with ZIP, AG on girts everywhere else, whatever the job calls for. Girts carry any panel; checking ZIP switches that wall to studs (sheathing needs them). Colors show only what every chosen panel comes in.

Insulation

Porches

Open the picker and check every bay that gets a porch — checked bays that sit next to each other become one porch. Each porch then has its own roof pitch, attach height, and depth below.

Doors

Check a bay, then open its options to set size, awning, and Second floor — a window or door upstairs on the mezzanine floor.

Windows

Check a bay to put a window in it — size, awning and Second floor options open right under the row. Storefront glazing prices automatically when a wall's panel is set to glass in Colors.

Awnings

Canopy hoods over doors & windows — roof panel on outriggers with fascia trim, 1' past each side of the opening. Place doors & windows in the sections above, then pick a depth here.

Mezzanine

A full-width mezzanine floor in any bay — beams, joists, deck & support posts. Check the bays that get one:
Truss span — blank = what our purlin carries
Columns apart — blank = the bay
Columns stand on the slab and stop under the floor — they carry the mezzanine, not the roof. Rafters run the length between them, trusses run across on top at 2' o.c., and the deck rides the trusses — plywood direct, or steel pan with 3½" of finished concrete poured into it (priced at your concrete rates). Truss depth, deck gauge and pad size are all called out on the estimate and the footing sheet. The engineer of record confirms member sizes.

Exterior stairs

A stair up the outside of a wall to the upper floor — channel stringers, checkered-plate treads, landing and pipe rail both sides. Tick “door at the top” and it puts the door in the wall where the stair lands.

Concrete

Slab, turndown footing, column pads, rebar, mesh & vapor barrier. Size it yourself in Footing design, or let ⚡ Auto footings work it out from this building's loads.

Erection

We put the building up. Ticking this is what turns the printed paper into an ETC proposal instead of a materials quote.

Structure

Rigid bases stiffen the frame (~4× less drift, easier H/200) but put moment into the footings — more anchors, pads see eccentric bearing. Simple bases keep the footings light; drift is carried by the frame alone. Flows through 🏗 Building Design, 🔩 CN-3 and the 🧱 pad notes.
Trusses swap the solid tapered rafters for open-web steel trusses — about 15% less rafter steel, same columns and purlins. Shown in framing view.
Replaces the Z-purlins and girts with 20 ga 50 ksi hat channel rows at the picked centers — roof and walls. Shown in framing view.
Tightens the roof purlins from 5' to 2' centers so the roof can be sheathed with ZIP board or plywood. Lighter gauge at the close spacing. Shown in framing view.
Puts crane runway brackets on every column line, runway rails down both sidewalls, and the bridge crane with hoist & end trucks. Priced on the quote; crane loads on the frames verified by engineering. Shown in framing view.
ZIP under the roof panels, priced per sq ft with the sheet count on the quote — turns on the 2' purlins it fastens to. Wall framing, studs & ZIP are picked per wall with the wall panels in the Panels section.

Bracing

X-braces are the economical choice for open bays; use a portal frame where a door needs the bay clear. Sidewall-braced bays get roof X-bracing automatically; add roof X-braces to any other bay (numbered front→back). Shown in framing view.

Steel Light

Transforms the design to the shop's light-gauge system: 8" × 14 ga purlin columns with truss rafters built from 4" purlins, a frame every 5' on center, endwall columns stepping up to the ridge every 5', and hat channel purlins & girts. All shop-rolled right here — nothing bought in. Shown in framing view.

🧱 Monolithic Turndown Slab Design

Estimating-grade design to ACI 318-19 strength provisions — pad thickness from two-way punching & one-way shear (§22.6 / §22.5), reinforcement from flexure at the column face (§13.2.7) with the §24.4.3.2 temperature-steel floor, uplift on the 0.9D combination (§5.3.1); slab-on-ground per ACI 360R. f'c 4,000 psi · Grade 60. 🏗 Building Design — Structural Analysis

Estimating-grade frame analysis to ASCE 7 allowable-stress load combinations (§2.4.1) — rigid end-plate moment connections at the knees and ridge, column footing connection per the Structure pick (rigid moment end plate or simple pin), drift limited to H/200. Member checks use ASD allowables (0.66Fy bending, A572-50) on the estimated tapered built-up sections; base fixity, slenderness and second-order effects are approximated.
